Carrie Jane Longerbeam, 73, of Harpers Ferry, WV, went home to be with the Lord, on Sunday, November 25, 2007 at her residence.

She was born July 7, 1934 in Clarke County, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Jacob Mason, Sr. and Carrie Covert Mason.

She worked at Musselman Apple Co., was a post mistress for the Harpers Ferry Post Office, was a clerk at Peoples Drug Store and Moffetts Pharmacy and worked at the Blue Ridge Outfitters.

She was a member of the Fellowship Bible Church at Shenandoah Junction.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Harry E. Longerbeam, Sr., at home, one daughter, Donna Kidwiler and husband, Monte, Sr. of Bakerton,; two sons, Randy Longerbeam and wife, Sharon of Williamsport, MD; Harry Longerbeam, Jr. and wife Mary of Shepherdstown, two sisters, Lois Bowman, Laura Thompson and husband, Donald, six brothers, Jacob Mason, Floyd Mason, Stanley Mason, Tommy Mason, Matt Mason and Frank Mason and wife, Lesley, six grandchildren, Amanda Robinson, Andrea Carter, Tiffany Longerbeam, Monica Rockwell, Monte Kidwiler, Jr. and Willow Longerbeam, nine great grandchildren and nine step grandchildren and a very dear friend of the family, Linda Myers.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Carol Mackey.

Services will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2007 at 2:00 pm at the Fellowship Bible Church, 160 Daniels Road, Shenandoah Junction, with Pastor Van Marsceau officiating.
Interment will be in Fairview Lutheran Cemetery at Bolivar. Bearers will be Monte Kidwiler Jr., Frankie Longerbeam, Donald Longerbeam, Granville Longerbeam Jr., Jeff Steplowski and Sam Ericsson.

The family will receive friends at the Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, US 340 at Halltown Road, Charles Town/Harpers Ferry, WV on Wednesday evening from 7-9 pm. There will be a private immediate family visitation on Wednesday at 3:00 pm.
